Privacy Policy

What we collect
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. When you enter a salary, state, or filing status, those values are used client-side to compute your result — no form data is transmitted to a server or stored in a database.
URL parameters (for example, /us/texas/salary/100000) appear in your
browser history and in standard web server request logs. The site is served over
HTTPS, so the URL travels encrypted between your browser and Cloudflare, but it
is still visible to the server handling the request — this is true of every
website. We don't treat those log entries as personal data, and we don't attempt
to join them with anything else. When you use the live calculator at /calculate,
any pre-tax deduction amounts you enter (401(k), HSA, FSA contributions) also
appear in the URL query string and the same logs.
Analytics
No analytics is enabled. If that changes, this policy will be updated to reflect what's collected and how. Until then, the only logs of your visits are the standard server-side request logs that Cloudflare maintains for security and infrastructure purposes (see "Third-party services" below).
Cookies
The site uses no cookies for tracking. If that changes, we'll add a notice and update this policy.
Third-party services
- Cloudflare — the site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may log IP addresses for security and DDoS protection. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
- Google Fonts — the Inter typeface used across the site is
loaded from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.comon every page. Google receives the request IP and User-Agent when the font CSS and font files are fetched. - Google Search Console — a verification meta tag is included in
the page
<head>so we can monitor search-engine indexing. The meta tag itself is passive — no data is exchanged with Google during page loads — but its presence makes the site discoverable to Search Console reporting.
Your rights
If you have questions about your data, reach out via our contact page. If you're in the EU (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have the right to request information about, or deletion of, any personal data we hold — though in practice we hold none.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children (COPPA).
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be called out more prominently.
